Upsells
Upsells let you recommend extra products to customers who already have a subscription, and let them add the product to their subscription in one click. It's one of the easiest ways to grow average order value from subscribers you already have. This guide explains how upsell offers work and how to create one.

How upsells work
An upsell offer shows an existing subscriber a recommended product. If they accept, the product is added to their subscription, with no separate checkout, so it's a true one-click add. You can optionally attach a discount to make the offer more tempting.
Where upsells appear
Upsells are shown to existing subscribers in two places:
- The customer portal, when a subscriber manages their subscription.
- Subscription emails, such as the renewal reminder and subscription started emails.
Targeting and recommendations
- Trigger: choose which subscriptions see the offer. Options are all subscriptions, subscriptions containing specific products, or subscriptions containing products from specific collections.
- Recommendation: choose what to offer, either specific products or products from a collection.
- Discount: optionally apply a discount to the recommended product to boost take-up.
Creating an upsell offer
- Go to Super Subscriptions > Grow and open Upsells and cross-sells, then create a new offer.
- Set the trigger (which subscribers see it).
- Choose the recommended product(s).
- Optionally add a discount.
- Pick where it appears (portal and/or the chosen emails) and save.
You can track how offers perform under Super Subscriptions > Analytics (the upsell report).
