The subscription widget is not displayed in my store
You have installed the Super Subscriptions app and set up a subscription plan, but the subscription options widget is still not visible in your online store? Troubleshooting steps
We recommend you follow these steps in order, as they are arranged to cover common issues progressively.
Step 1. Ensure the widget is enabled in your online store theme
For the widget to show, it needs to be enabled in your online store theme. Follow these steps to check and enable the widget:
- Open the homepage of the Super Subscriptions app
- In the setup guide, if the Enable the subscription widget step is not complete, then you need to add the widget to your online store theme. Otherwise, you can move to step 2.
- Click the Enable widget button. You will be redirected to the theme editor.
- Make sure to click Save to add the widget.
Step 2: Confirm Widget Visibility and Position
- Open the homepage of the Super Subscriptions app
- If the setup guide is complete, click the expand arrow. Then click Enable the subscription widget to expand the step guide.
- Click the Manage widget button. You will be redirected to the theme editor.
- Depending on your theme, you will be redirected to one of 2 pages:
a) 2.0 Theme Widget Block
- Locate the Subscription block on the left side
- Ensure the block is not set to invisible
- Confirm it is positioned correctly - usually above the buy buttons. If not, drag it to the correct position.
b) App embed
- Scroll through the page to search for the widget. If the widget is visible but incorrectly placed, contact support. If it is not visible, continue with the next steps.
Step 3: Verify You Are on the Product Page
Our app shows the widget only on product pages. To make sure you are looking at a supported page, check the URL bar in your browser. It should start with the following format https://[your-website.com]/products/... where the square brackets show your store URL.
If you are on the homepage, a collection page, or a custom page, the widget will not appear there. If your product pages are built with a page builder (e.g. PageFly, GemPages, Shogun), make sure the Super Subscriptions app embed is enabled — the widget works on builder-made product pages, though it may occasionally need manual placement. See Compatibility and integrations, and contact support if it still doesn't appear.
Step 4: Ensure the Product is in a Subscription Plan
The widget will only display on products included in a subscription plan. To verify this, follow these steps:
- In your Shopify admin, open the Product page and select a subscription product.
- Scroll down until you see the Purchase options box. If this box is missing or does not show a Super Subscriptions option, you will need to add the product to your subscription plan. Otherwise, proceed to Step 5.
- Open the Plans page of the Super Subscriptions app and select a plan
- Add your product to the plan.
Step 5: Check the Eligible Customers for Your Subscription Option
It is possible to set subscription options to only be visible for logged in customers. This can be confusing as the subscription widget will not show if all available options are set like this. To check this please follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Plans page of the Super Subscriptions app and select a plan
- Select a subscription option
- Scroll down until you see the Eligible customers box. If you have selected Only logged in customers can purchase this subscription option, make sure you are logged into your online store account to see the widget..
