The subscription widget appears twice or at the bottom of the page

Seeing the subscription widget show up twice on a product page, or appear at the very bottom (in or near the footer) instead of next to the buy buttons? Both are quick fixes. This guide covers the two most common cases.

The widget appears twice


This almost always means the widget is being added to your page two ways at once: through the theme app block and through the app embed.


  • On Online Store 2.0 themes, the widget should be placed as a block in your product template.
  • The app embed is the fallback for older (vintage) themes.


If both are switched on, you get two widgets — usually one in the right spot and a duplicate lower down. The fix is to turn off the app embed and keep the block:


  1. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes > Customize.
  2. Open a product page in the theme editor.
  3. Click the App embeds icon (bottom of the left sidebar).
  4. Toggle off the Super Subscriptions embed.
  5. Click Save.


The block stays in place, so a single widget remains exactly where you want it.


If you're on a vintage theme that only uses the app embed (no block) and still see two widgets, contact support — we'll take a look.


The widget appears at the bottom of the page


If there's only one widget but it's sitting at the bottom of the product page, it just needs to be repositioned. This happens when the block was dropped low in the product template.


  1. Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize and open a product page.
  2. In the left sidebar, find the Super Subscriptions (Subscription) block.
  3. Drag it to sit just above the buy buttons (the add-to-cart area).
  4. Click Save.


We recommend placing the widget above the Add to Cart button. It's the most visible spot and gives the best subscription conversion rate.
